During Wentworth Weekend, the university proudly welcomed back members of the Class of 1975 to celebrate their 50th reunion—a remarkable milestone in Wentworth’s 120-year history. Though small in number, the group’s enthusiasm and pride filled the campus with energy, laughter, and reflection.

Throughout the day, classmates reconnected and, in some cases, met one another for the very first time—discovering shared memories and experiences that have stood the test of time. Their day began with a guided ‘Back to Class’ session, where familiar spaces like the Foundry and the Strength of Materials lab brought back vivid memories of hours spent designing, testing, and learning through hands-on experimentation.

From there, the group explored the future of Wentworth’s education, stepping into the state-of-the-art Robotics, Additive Manufacturing, and biological engineering labs. These new spaces showcase how Wentworth continues to combine technical mastery with real-world application—an approach that has defined the university for generations.

The celebration continued with a luncheon in honor of the Class of 1975, where President Mark Thompson offered a heartfelt toast recognizing the class’s legacy and the lasting impact to the university and their careers. Dean Ali Khabari of the Douglas D. Schumann School of Engineering joined the festivities, sharing updates from the school and his appreciation for the alumni whose dedication continues to inspire Wentworth students today.

A highlight of the day was their induction into the prestigious Black & Gold Society, a distinction that honors alumni who have demonstrated lifelong commitment to Wentworth through their loyalty, leadership, and generosity.

The 50th reunion was more than a milestone—it was a celebration of community, progress, and the enduring bond shared by all Wentworth alumni. As the Class of 1975 looked back on their journey, they were reminded that while time moves forward, the foundation built at Wentworth continues to unite generations of innovators, makers, and problem-solvers.
