Honoring Service: Ted Prorok BC '65, AE '66, AAS '72

Thaddeus (Ted) Prorok BC ’65, AE ’66, AAS ’72, was honored at the Massachusetts State House on May 22, 2025, during the inaugural Military Appreciation Day—a new annual tradition celebrating servicemembers, veterans, military families, and advocates across the Commonwealth.
Nominated by State Representative Josh Tarksky of the 13th Norfolk District, Ted was one of approximately 145 honorees recognized for their service and dedication. A Life Member and Post Adjutant of the Lt. Manson H. Carter VFW Post 2498 in Needham, MA, Ted has long been a pillar of his local veteran community.
Ted served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War with the 25th Infantry Division “Tropic Lightning”— “The Electric Strawberry”— and the 65th Combat Engineer Battalion. He was stationed in Cu Chi, Vietnam from 1969 to 1970.
His recognition at the State House reflects not only his distinguished military service but also his continued commitment to supporting fellow veterans and his invaluable contributions to the Commonwealth as a distinguished member of the military community in Massachusetts.
