Adrianna Arona '24 Pursues Biomedical Engineering Thanks to Mary & Sandy Giampapa Scholarship
Adrianna is a senior majoring in biomedical engineering who has a bright future ahead of her. As a dedicated student, she has always wanted to help people in the medical field. Her grandmother had a prosthetic leg, and she worked as a personal care attendant for a woman with multiple sclerosis who used an implant to release baclofen into her body at a set rate. Seeing how medical devices helped support these two people close to her led Adrianna to want to study biomedical engineering and make an impact for others in need.
Adrianna recently completed two co-ops. One at Abiomed where she tested materials to see if they met the criteria for the heart pumps, and another at Mass General Brigham hospital where she was able to gain experience with medical device integration.
Adrianna is looking forward to graduating in August and starting her career in the biomedical field, all of which would not be possible without the generosity of others supporting her aspirations to pursue her educational dreams. She is the recipient of the Mary & Sandy Giampapa Scholarship and is grateful for the support provided to her by generous donors throughout her education at Wentworth.
As a recipient of funding provided by external supporters, Adrianna is a shining example of what a Wentworth education can do to propel someone into the career of their dreams.
