Adrianna Arona '24 Pursues Biomedical Engineering Thanks to Mary & Sandy Giampapa Scholarship

Adrianna is a senior majoring in biomedical engineering who has a bright future ahead of her. As a dedicated student, she has always wanted to help people in the medical field. Her grandmother had a prosthetic leg, and she worked as a personal care attendant for a woman with multiple sclerosis who used an implant to release baclofen into her body at a set rate.

Taylor Sartwell graduated this summer with the Class of 2023. Taylor majored in mechanical engineering and minored in manufacturing while studying at Wentworth.

Alumni Day 2023: Celebrating Achievement and Rekindling Bonds

A number of Class of 1973 alumni gathered in Watson Auditorium on May 20 to be honored for their time at Wentworth Institute of Technology, and to mark 50 years since graduating. Some have gone on to successful careers in engineering, business, and other fields. Others have stayed connected to their alma mater through industry partnerships or gifts over the years.

Tedi Qafko is a hardworking student studying Electrical Engineering with plans to graduate next year.
He shared that receiving an endowed scholarship has provided him with an opportunity to pursue a dream of graduating from college and doing what he loves. He has immersed himself in his studies and carved time to participate in extracurricular activities.

500 Huntington Avenue Update

Wentworth's development of 500 Huntington Avenue has entered its next stage with the Huntington Development Group filing a Project Notification Form (PNF) with the City of Boston and the university filing its 2023-2033 Institutional Master Plan Notification Form.

The Boston Globe covered the news and highlighted the fact that the 640,000-square-foot, two-building complex will be developed by two Black-owned businesses and feature life sciences labs, and ground-floor retail and restaurant spaces.

Gabe Gomez is a recipient of the Flatley Discovery Endowed Scholarship which is awarded to deserving students who are majoring in biomedical engineering, biological engineering, or applied sciences and live in the city of Boston. The Flatley Foundation is a generous donor to the university and believes in the potential of our students and recognizes the barriers many students face in trying to afford higher education.

Student Scholarship Recipient Focuses on Student Leadership, Athletics, and Helping Others in the Community

Miroslaw Wierzbicki, a rising senior who is studying electrical engineering, is the proud recipient of the Charles C. Ely Education Fund scholarship. The Charles C. Ely Education Fund was established through the Will of Charles Ely, and has been granted to multiple deserving Wentworth students each year since the mid-2000’s.

Inaugural Combined Interior and Industrial Design Student Show

There is no doubt that Wentworth Institute of Technology has a history of educating and guiding wonderful students throughout a rigorous four years, no matter the discipline. Within moments the senior class will be graduating, as they have for many a year, and as they will for many years to come.  

Student Credits Scholarship to Helping Her Focus and Excel in Academics, Athletics, and Community Service

Chaise Kakuk, a class of 2023 Construction Management student, and native of Laguna Niguel, California, is the proud recipient of the Shawmut Design and Construction Scholarship. Chaise is a dedicated student who participates on the volleyball team, tutors her peers, is an active member of the Construction Management Club, and gives back to the community surrounding campus.

From the ice to the volleyball court, soccer field, and softball diamond, Wentworth’s Class of 2022 Athletics Hall of Fame inductees are a fine example of versatility. 

Wentworth's Boston Pipeline Expands to the Center for Skilled Trades

Wentworth was founded to provide "education in the technical arts" for local youth. For over 110 years, the university has been providing graduates from the city and the region with the necessary project-based education that fills the critical needs of our local economy as industry needs change.

Under a brilliant May sun, a trio of young alumni tossed around a bean bag on the Quad, relaxing and sharing stories in proximity to a futuristic glass structure, new since their time as students.
