Taylor Sartwell, Mechanical Engineering '23, Recipient of the George L. Bent Scholarship

Taylor Sartwell graduated this summer with the Class of 2023. Taylor majored in mechanical engineering and minored in manufacturing while studying at Wentworth. Taylor shared that his career aspirations have been to begin a career in robotics – an area he is deeply passionate about and explored through membership on the Robotics Club and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

In addition to his rigorous studies, he served as president of Cru Wentworth which provided him the opportunity to develop strong leadership abilities. Additionally, he participated on the Indigenous Students Association e-board at Emmanuel College to create and expand the community for Indigenous students across the Colleges of Fenway. 

Taylor expressed his deep gratitude for being awarded the George L. Bent Scholarship while at Wentworth. He shared that having been raised by a single mother with limited income, he has big dreams to change that way of life for himself and his family and his Wentworth degree has set him on that course. The assistance provided by this generous donor, along with his savings, grants, and loans, enabled Taylor to focus on his studies and graduate from Wentworth with a bright future ahead.
